Galtee Honey

One way to put a buzz into your day is to visit a honey farm. The award-winning family-run Galtee Honey Farm has been in business since 1970. It has grown from an initial five hives to about 150 hives of bees. The apiaries or groups of hives are dotted across three counties (Tipperary, Limerick and Cork) in the Galtee/Vee Valley. This geographic spread adds to the flavour Galtee Honey offers. The bees collect honey from a wide variety of flora across the valley such as sycamore and horse chestnut blossom, dandelion, oilseed rape, hawthorn, blackberry blossom, clover and heather.
